Clinical Laboratory Technologist also known as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Technologist (MT), Laboratory Technologist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)

Responsibilities

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist Generalist (TN) will perform the following job duties:

  • Diagnostic laboratory testing within assigned areas.
  • Utilize specialized knowledge and skills within licensed areas of practice.
  • Promote collaboration and positive relationships between the Laboratory and other hospital departments.
  • Support accurate, efficient, and high-quality laboratory services.

The Laboratory Technician (TC) will perform the following duties:

  • Diagnostic laboratory procedures efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with and under the guidance of a Laboratory Technologist.
  • Exercise limited independent judgment within established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Work under the supervision of a Laboratory Technologist, Supervisor, or Laboratory Director.
  • Collaborate with laboratory team members to support quality patient care and timely results.

Qualifications

CLINICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST

Education

Required: Associate's degree

Preferred: Bachelor's degree

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Required: Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist license (TN)

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience

Required: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

Experience: Preferred

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Education

Associates Degree in MLS, preferred

Certificate training program at an approved school for Clinical Laboratory Technician level training leading to state licensure

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Required: Florida Clinical Laboratory license (TC)

Experience

Preferred: Previous laboratory experience

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training

Required: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
