Ross Professional Services, LLC (RPS) is an employment, technical support and integrated security services company located in Washington DC. We provide professional support and operations to the District of Columbia and Federal government nationwide. RPS is a government contractor, in which our routine work consists of providing professional support, technical writers, information technology support, and other support for our government clients throughout the United States and District of Columbia.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to support our contract with Maxim/DC DBH for 4 Days per week, 11pm-7:30am.

Title: Registered Nurse - $99K-$105K ($57-$60 per hr.)

Location: The Department of Behavioral Health, St. Elizabeth’s

1905 E ST.SE Washington DC 20003

Shifts Options: 11pm-7:30am (NTE 4 Days = 32 hours)

Days: Monday – Sunday (NTE 4 Days = 32 hours)

Duration: ASAP – September 30, 2026 (plus option years)

Hourly Rate: $99K-$105K = (57.00-$60.00 per hour = (health/dental/life insurance coverage, paid federal holidays, accrued vacation options)

COVID News: While onsite, all personnel onsite will adhere to CDC guidelines to include social distancing, wear a face covering, washing hands, etc.

Credentialing Requirements

  1. BACKGROUND

DBH provides services and supports to eligible adults, children and their families for the prevention, intervention and treatment of mental health, along with substance use disorders. DBH operates critical Behavioral Health Programs which includes Saint Elizabeth's Hospital (SEH) which is a 292 bed Adult in Patient Acute Care Mental Health Hospital, located at 1100 Alabama Avenue, SE, Washington, DC 20032. DBH also operates a Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) a Twenty-Four Hour/Seven Days a Week facility located on the old DC General Campus located at 1905 E Street SE, Building #14, and Washington, DC 20003; DBH also operates The Assessment Referral Center (ARC) 73 P Street, NE Washington, DC 20002; and Urgent Care Clinic 35 K Street, NE Washington DC 20002.

  1. REQUIREMENTS

RN - Educational and Competency Skill Requirements:

The RN shall:

  1. Be licensed to practice in the District of Columbia with a current verifiable Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) licensure and certifications
  1. Possess minimum one (1) year of work experience obtained in Acute Hospital, Behavioral Health Treatment or in an Emergency Treatment setting.
  1. Possess minimum one (1) year of work experience with either Mental Health, Acute Care and Co-occurring Mental health settings is required for this Contract
  1. Have basic office equipment (copier/fax) and computer literacy skills
  2. Experience with data or word processing applications (Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Access, Word, etc.) and working in an Electronic Health Record Management System. Be capable of communicating orally and in writing

t) Perform work shift work and work on weekends as scheduled by DBH

  1. Perform visual, audio logical screening, tuberculosis (TB), HIV, Hepatitis C screening and pregnancy testing as indicated, within Twenty-Four (24) hours of admission, including reading TB test within Forty-Eight (48) hours of consumer admission and enter all information in consumers' electronic medical record and/ or physical medical chart as indicated or directed by DBH
  1. Document Nursing notes, observations of specific physical or behavioral signs and symptoms.
  1. Administer prescribed medication as ordered by a Physician. Transcribe orders to the appropriate Medication Administration Record. Order Medications from Pharmacy and check for accuracy when receiving medications before storing in a secure area.
  1. Perform proper disposition of used hypodermic apparatus and biohazard waste.
  1. Provide Health Education on a One-to-One (Nurse to Consumer) basis in the medical unit.
  1. Participate in an orientation consisting of supervised on the job training.
  1. Prepare special reports as needed and perform other related duties.
  1. Be able to recognize Medical Emergencies and respond appropriately.
  1. Be able to identify and recognize any medical problems to escalate to the next level Provider (medical director or designee/ Supervisory Registered Nurse) upon negative examination findings.
  1. Possess skills in evaluating the effectiveness of the Nursing Care Plan.
  1. Comply with infection control guidelines for the proper downing of Personal Protective equipment for each Individual in Care (IIC) unit or designated patient care area.
  1. Follow agency specific infection control guidelines and requirements for routine COVID-19 testing.
