Job description

The position is responsible for:
  • Preparing and/or reviewing the monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provisions in accordance with the relevant IFRS, SEC and other authoritative guidance related to accounting for income taxes
  • Preparing and/or reviewing income tax forecasts for North America for budget/business plan development (including effective tax rate, income tax provision, current receivable/payable, deferred tax assets/liabilities, and cash flows)
  • Liaising with external auditors, accounting operations, and group tax teams
  • Support external auditor's quarterly review and annual audit of tax provisions
  • Ensuring that SOX-compliant internal controls over financial reporting for the tax accounting function are appropriate, properly monitored and maintained
  • Assisting the team with the assessment of accounting and reporting for uncertain tax positions, permanent reinvestment of foreign earnings, recognition of deferred tax assets and other subjective areas of income tax accounting
  • Providing oversight and guidance to subsidiaries and affiliates for income tax accounting and reporting, special studies, process redesigns and other projects
  • Preparing and/or reviewing year-end income tax disclosures associated with statutory and group financial statements
  • Facilitating the US deferred proof and provision to return process from start to finish
  • Identifying, researching, and preparing company position papers related to income tax accounting issues, in cooperation with the Technical Accounting team and Office of Tax Affairs

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Tax or Accounting
  • CPA or CA (Chartered Accountant)
  • Minimum 4 years of enterprise-scale, corporate accounting or large CPA public accounting experience
  • Professional experience in corporate tax compliance and/or tax accounting principles, methods and techniques
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with a bias for action and issue resolution
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to function independently and multi-task

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Multinational publicly-traded corporate tax experience
  • Experience with IFRS tax accounting concepts
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision, SAP, and OneStream
