What is a tax resolution?

A Tax Resolution job involves assisting individuals or businesses in resolving their tax issues with the IRS or state tax authorities. This can include negotiating payment plans, reducing tax debts through settlements, handling audits, and ensuring compliance with tax laws. Professionals in this field often work as tax consultants, enrolled agents, CPAs, or attorneys specializing in tax law. Their goal is to help taxpayers find the best possible resolution while minimizing penalties and financial burdens.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in tax resolution, and why are they important?

To thrive in Tax Resolution, you need strong analytical abilities, a deep understanding of tax codes and regulations, and relevant qualifications such as an Enrolled Agent (EA) designation, CPA license, or similar credentials.
