Job description

NTT DATA''s Client is seeking a Tax Ops BA with 8+ years of experience and a strong understanding of Tax Operations, including documentation (W-8/W-9 or equivalent), withholding tax (WHT), and reporting
 Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and document business requirements related to tax operations, withholding tax, and regulatory reporting.
  • Partner with Business, Tax Advisory, and Engineering teams to translate tax regulations into functional requirements and system logic.
  • Evaluate and analyze transaction data to identify patterns, anomalies, and data quality issues.
  • Define and document data mappings, business rules, and decision logic across multiple systems.
  • Support implementation of tax determination and reporting solutions through rule engines and decision modeling frameworks.
  • Develop and validate decision tables and business rules using tools such as Drools and Signavio DMN.
  • Perform impact assessments for regulatory and process changes.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and defect resolution activities.
  • Write and execute SQL queries to perform data validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of business and regulatory initiatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of business processes, decision models, requirements, and testing results.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor''s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Tax Operations Analyst, Tax Technology Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Tax Operations, including:
    • W-8/W-9 documentation
    • Withholding Tax (WHT)
    • Tax reporting and compliance processes
  • Proven experience analyzing financial transactions and working with large datasets.
  • Ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and relationships within complex data environments.
  • Experience defining business rules, data mappings, and functional specifications.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to perform data analysis and validation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments with Business, Tax Advisory, Operations, and Engineering teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Drools or other Business Rules Management Systems (BRMS).
  • Experience with Signavio DMN or similar Decision Modeling and Notation tools.
  • Exposure to FitNesse, UAT, regression testing, and QA methodologies.
  • Experience within investment banking, asset management, wealth management, custody services, or financial services organizations.
  • Familiarity with regulatory initiatives related to tax reporting and withholding tax compliance.
