Job Details Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage a full portfolio of business and individual tax clients from planning through final delivery
  • Review complex tax returns including partnerships (1065), S corps (1120S), C corps (1120), individual returns (1040), fiduciary and trust returns (1041), and gift tax returns (709) when applicable
  • Research and resolve complex federal and state tax issues
  • Provide proactive tax planning and consulting to clients
  • Build and maintain strong, lasting client relationships as a trusted advisor
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop Tax Seniors and Staff Accountants through training and review
  • Review staff work for technical accuracy and firm quality standards
  • Manage multiple engagements, budgets, and deadlines through busy season and beyond
  • Identify opportunities to improve client tax strategies and firm efficiency
  • Partner with firm leadership on special projects and practice development
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • CPA license required or actively in process
  • Minimum of 8 years of recent public accounting tax experience
  • Experience supervising and mentoring staff
  • Strong background reviewing complex business and individual tax returns
  • Working knowledge of pass through entities, trusts, estates, and high net worth individual taxation
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while keeping client service front and center
Preferred
  • Experience with closely held businesses across varied industries
  • Strong tax planning and consulting background
  • Experience with CCH, UltraTax, ProSystem fx, or similar tax software
  • Track record of building long term client relationships that support firm growth
