Hersman Serles Almond has specialized in providing tax, accounting, and consulting services to leading northwest organizations and families for over 40 years. We recently merged with Coldstream, an employee-owned, independently operated wealth management firm providing personalized client services to high-net-worth individuals and families. Founded in 1996 and based in Bellevue, we also have offices in Kirkland, Seattle, Mercer Island, Portland, Boise, and Kenai, AK.
The HSA team is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to work closely with Tax Managers, Partners, and other members of our Kirkland team to provide exceptional services to our clients. This position offers a hybrid work environment, with team members working in-office three days per week and two optional work-from-home days outside of tax season, and four days in-office during tax season. The team also offers flexible scheduling, provided employees are in the office during core business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This is a great opportunity to work for a smaller local firm, which provides better balance and quality of life. You will also have the flexibility and opportunity to explore different areas such as estates and trusts, tax planning, and international tax.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and partnerships
  • Regularly interacting with interesting, complex families to help them solve their problems

  • Mentoring junior staff

Experience and Skills
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • CPA license
  • 3-5 years of public accounting firm tax experience
  • High proficiency with high-net-worth individuals, corporate, and partnership taxation
  • Interest and experience in tax research
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to juggle multiple client engagements
