The Senior Tax Analyst - Tax Advisory will report to the Senior Director, Tax Advisory and will be responsible for assisting with Amentum's tax research, planning, controversy, M&A, and other special projects. This individual contributor role will be instrumental in furthering Amentum's best-in-class tax function and is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in an extremely dynamic, diverse, and fast-paced environment. US Citizenship is required. Candidates must be within driving distance to our offices in Northern Virginia

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support a broad range of domestic and international tax advisory projects, including financing transactions and cash repatriation, legal entity restructurings, withholding and indirect tax matters, and tax support for M&A transactions

  • Perform technical tax research and support tax planning, modeling, and structuring projects

  • Support our U.S. research & development tax credit claims and documentation

  • Support business development activities, including researching applicability of tax exemptions available to Amentum under bilateral defense-type agreements, such as Status of Forces Agreements ("SOFA")

  • Support tax audits and controversies in U.S. federal, state, and foreign jurisdictions, including direct and indirect tax matters, including gathering and validating data for audit requests, drafting audit responses, etc.

  • Monitor and analyze federal, state, and foreign legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments

  • Assist with documenting key tax positions, risks, planning analyses, and intercompany agreements

  • Work with and provide tax support to internal stakeholders, including Legal, Business Development, Contracts, and Treasury teams

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Work with and provide tax support to internal stakeholders, including Legal, Business Development, Contracts, and Treasury teams

  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications including Excel, Word and Power Point

  • Work effectively with other team members in carrying out assignments. Positive attitude and dependable team player with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyze complex data from various sources to provide insights.

  • Highly organized with the ability to efficiently and accurately manage competing priorities and internal and external deadlines

Main requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a public accounting firm and/or multi-national public company with a JD, CPA and Bachelor's degree in relevant field; or 3+ years relevant experience with Masters degree years

  • US Citizenship is required to apply

Compensation Details:

Budget 126K
