What is a tattoo friendly?

A tattoo-friendly job is a workplace that accepts and allows employees to have visible tattoos without discrimination. These jobs do not require employees to cover their body art and often embrace personal expression. Industries like creative arts, hospitality, tech, and trades are more likely to be tattoo-friendly. However, policies vary by company, so it's best to check an employer's dress code before applying.

What types of workplaces are tattoo friendly, and what does that mean for my daily work experience?

Tattoo Friendly workplaces are usually found in industries like retail, hospitality, the arts, fitness, and creative services, where self-expression is encouraged and visible tattoos are accepted or even appreciated. In these environments, you can expect a diverse and inclusive atmosphere where personal style—such as tattoos and piercings—is not a barrier to employment or advancement. Daily responsibilities are generally similar to those in non-tattoo-friendly roles, but you'll have greater freedom regarding dress code and appearance. This supportive setting fosters a welcoming team culture and can make interactions with teammates and clients more authentic. Choosing a Tattoo Friendly workplace can support both your career and your individuality.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a tattoo friendly position?

Tattoo Friendly positions typically require strong customer service skills, an open-minded attitude, and professionalism in client interactions, with no specific formal qualifications mandated. Familiarity with basic point-of-sale systems, scheduling software, or reception tools may be useful, depending on the business setting. Adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and effective communication are valuable soft skills for excelling in environments that welcome visible tattoos. These qualities help ensure a respectful, inclusive experience for both employees and clients in workplaces that celebrate individuality.

What careers are tattoo friendly?

Careers that are tattoo friendly typically include creative fields such as art, design, music, and entertainment, where personal expression is often accepted. Many customer service, tech, and remote jobs also have more relaxed policies regarding visible tattoos, especially in casual or progressive workplaces. However, industry standards vary, and some professional environments may require tattoos to be covered during work hours.

About Jersey Mike's

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

It started back in 1956, in this actual storefront location and was originally called Mike's Subs. Mike opened the small shop in the sea-side town of Point Pleasant, New Jersey. You have to remember that in 1956, there were very few franchise restaurants or hamburger chains. No chain pizza, chicken or taco restaurants, either. In 1956, proprietors of mom-and-pop businesses would open their stores in basic storefront locations like you see here. To survive and thrive, they had to offer exceptional quality products, coupled with unparalleled service. In 1956, Mike was unique in that the product he was offering was a relatively new item in American society – the submarine sandwich. Today, the authentic taste – served Mike's Way® with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, oil, vinegar and spices – is available nationwide. Our secret? Everything about Jersey Mike’s is high quality. Our meats and cheeses are all top-quality premium brands. Our bread is fresh-baked each day on the premises. And of course, everything’s prepared right in front of you. It’s what makes Jersey Mike’s the most authentic tasting submarine sandwich available, and it’s a tradition of quality we’ll never outgrow.
