Job description

Summary: Responsible for demonstrating and promoting SRIM's core value of the golden rule by treating residents, families, and associates in the same way we would like to be treated. With minimal supervision and guidance from the Maintenance Director is responsible and accountable in assisting in the planning and coordination of all functions of the maintenance department to ensure an efficiently run community for environmental services by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Assists in monitoring, coordinating or completing maintenance duties to ensure the community is always in a clean, orderly, safe and attractive condition.*
2. Reacts and takes the lead in emergency repairs of any kind regarding equipment breakdown, seeks methods for completing repairs and accomplishes same within maintenance tech's technical capabilities.*
3. Assists and follows through on aesthetic improvement plans both inside and outside the building that includes but not limited to painting, including touch-up painting, staining woodwork, drywall repairs and minor building repairs.*
4. Assists new residents with moving furniture in their room as well as moving residents when appropriate as deemed necessary by the director of maintenance.*
5. Provides hands on repairs on an as needed basis to ensure a pro-active approach to all maintenance activities and performs repairs as needed.*
6. Refrains from discussing resident issues with families and visitors and refers all inquiries to immediate nursing supervisor.*
7. Responsible for always wearing clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy.*
8. Coordinates contracted services and monitors all maintenance functions to ensure adherence to schedule and quality are in the best interest of the community in the absence of the director of maintenance.*
9. Performs daily walk-arounds both inside and outside of the community repairs/touch-up all areas that need attention.*
10. Responsible for always responding promptly and courteously to resident's, families and visitors request for assistance.*
11. Responsible for constantly speaking and interacting with residents showing empathy, kindness, compassion and respect.*
12. Maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families visitors and associates.*
13. Responsible for always practicing good body mechanics and safe working habits.*
14. Observes, repairs, and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor.*
15. Provides assistance to associates when requested or required.*
16. Knows, understands, and follows established policy and procedures in emergency situations.*
17. Responsible for being considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather and is required to report or remain at community until released by supervisor.*
18. Knows, understands, and complies with HIPAA regulations.*
19. Responsible for always demonstrating a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies and procedures.*
20. Complies with attendance and call off policy.*
21. Attends and/or participates in trainings, in-service and mandatory meetings.*
22. Serves and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
23. Responsible for participating in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activity calendar.
24. Responsible for willingly taking on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties.
25. Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or as requested.

Education/Experience:
