Description

Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the Welcome Center Associate at the YMCA of Central Massachusetts creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintaining a safe conditions at the welcome center and surrounding areas in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Responsible to lead the culture of exceptional member service.
  • Ensure proper implementation of front desk procedures are in place and revised when necessary.
  • Demonstrate consistent excellence in sales and new member materials, presentation, telephone and in person service and prospective member engagement.
  • Support the Membership Director in all administrative duties as assigned.
  • Attend quarterly staff meetings for welcome center staff to ensure the highest quality service is performed.
  • Demonstrate consistent excellence in sales and new member materials, presentation, telephone and in person service and prospective member engagement.
  • Provide excellent member service by greeting all members by name, providing members with accurate information and handling all requests at the front desk.
  • Provide leadership in building on medical emergencies
  • Responsible for entering member cancelations and providing follow-up phone calls as needed.
  • Provide follow-up for all complimentary pass users, internet guest pass users and member questions submitted on ymcaofcm.org.
  • Participates in staff meetings and/or related meetings and participates in association tasks force
  • Play a role in the Annual Campaign.
  • Assist in other areas as deemed necessary.
  • Participates in trainings and other Association initiatives.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 16 years old 
  • Must have basic understanding of computer & administrative skills 
  • Must have at least 1 year of customer service experience 
  • Strong attention to detail and able to work in a fast pace environment 
  • Able to resolve conflict in a professional manner and provide information about YMCA programs
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is strongly preferred to support effective communication with all members of our community 
  • Holds current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification or able to receive certification within 30 days of hire 


Job Type: Part-Time (Non-Exempt)

Schedule: Hours may vary depending on Department's needs. Please tell us your availability when submitting your application

Pay: $15.00 per hour. Plus, access to YMCA facilities, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick Leave
