Spurgeon Senior Community is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented individual to join our team as a maintenance assistant! This position helps foster the safe, homelike environment for our residents and tenants. This position requires a valid drivers license with the ability to gain a chauffer's license, and if needed CPR training will be provided on-site at no cost. No other certifications or licenses are required, but background in maintenance or property upkeep is a plus!
Essential Functions:
Performs various routine preventative maintenance tasks and repairs utilizing painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical skills as is appropriate.
Performs minor repairs as needed/according to ability.
May maintain building exteriors.
Drive residents/tenants to and from hospital/clinics as needed.
Assists in performance of preventive maintenance tasks.
May assist with cleaning, stripping, sealing, waxing and buffing floors.
May clean, repair and paint walls, windows and/or fixtures.
Identifies and corrects unsafe work conditions and safety hazards.
Available for on call in emergencies as scheduled
