Description

Tarantino Properties is seeking a Commercial Maintenance Engineer for office buildings in the Austin area.

The commercial maintenance engineer is responsible for performing a wide range of duties across a variety of trades including plumbing, sheetrock, cleaning, painting, flooring, carpentry, concrete repair, and other related work.


Job Summary:

Perform preventive maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and grounds on a commercial building portfolio throughout the Austin & Central Texas area.  


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

High School Diploma or GED, preferably associate's degree or other trade school experience

Additional professional certifications are a plus.

Minimum 2 years of direct work experience in commercial property maintenance and operations.

Must be a professional, dependable, flexible, & accountable individual with effective communication skills, positive attitude, & excels at Tenant relations.

Must be motivated, takes initiative to complete tasks without constant direct supervision.

Must have knowledge of facility maintenance & repairs including but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, carpentry, locksmith, painting, & other general repairs 

Must have reliable transportation & good driving record

Must be able to pass pre-hire drug & background screening


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform completion of work orders and maintenance requests, emergency repairs & response calls, and preventative maintenance.

Inspect the properties regularly and ensure all building systems (elevator, HVAC, fire, plumbing, electrical, etc.) are working properly and are well maintained.  

Inspect and oversee any maintenance or repairs made by third party vendors to ensure the work is done properly as per the scope of work.

Responds quickly to emergency situations including afterhours emergency calls

Perform other duties as needed as determined by Property Manager
