Job Summary
FT/Seasonal (August to December)
$20.00 (12-hour, up to 7 days a week).
As a Laborer you will be joining a well-established Team at a growing company where you will assist in our Cotton Season loading.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read and understand all standard operating procedures as well as safety requirements for the job.
  • When assigned to the Railcar Cotton cars task, Laborer will need to pay attention to detail to check and open railcars, check every gondola car and unload equipment from inside gondola cars in a safe manner. Ensure all safety pins are in place after the task is completed.
  • When assigned to tarp cars, once cars are set in place, a tarp will be placed on top of car and draped to cover the entire car, bungees to be set in each eyelet on the tarp, 4 rachet straps will be draped across railcar to secure tarp, repeat the task throughout the day.
  • Laborer will be required to perform occasional janitorial work in maintaining the admin. building.
  • Participate in safety briefings, job briefings, and any other pass on information from team members, management, or customer.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction and follow work rules, as well as, take on additional job responsibilities as needed or assigned
  • Must maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance
  • Ability to work outside majority of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions
  • Flexibility required; ability to workdays, nights, weekends when necessary
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Working knowledge of Watco Safety and Operating principles
  • Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
  • Read, write, and communicate in English & understand basic math.
  • Learn from directions, observations, and mistakes and apply procedures using good judgment.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.

Education
Must be 18 years of age or older with High School or GED equivalent
