What are tanning salons?

Tanning salons are businesses that offer artificial tanning services, primarily through the use of tanning beds, booths, or sunlamps to help clients achieve a bronzed skin tone. These salons may also provide spray tans or self-tanning products as alternatives to UV tanning. Tanning salons are regulated to ensure customer safety and typically require clients to follow specific guidelines, such as wearing protective eyewear. Staff at tanning salons are usually trained to assist clients in choosing the right tanning method and session duration based on their skin type.

What Are Jobs at Tanning Salons?

Tanning salon jobs include a variety of positions focused on management, customer service, and sales. As a tanning attendant, you may assist customers, clean tanning booths, and help with scheduling appointments. As a tanning consultant, you may handle cash, process paperwork, promote salon membership, and explain various services and product details. Tanning salon owners focus on keeping tanning beds as occupied as possible while ensuring the equipment gets the maintenance it needs. So, you may work as a manager to oversee staff and cleaning schedules, implement various promotions and offers, and track goals. Regardless of position, all tanning salon jobs entail understanding and enforcing regulations as well as maintaining a professional demeanor when interacting with clients.
