Job description

GulfMark Energy, Inc. is hiring CDL A Local Heavy Haul Oil Tanker Drivers in Jackson, MI. Drivers will be responsible for taking samples and testing the oil, loading crude oil into an 8 axle tanker trailer and locally delivering to an injection site. Established in 1990, GulfMark Energy, Inc.has earned a reputation for integrity, honesty, hard work and loyalty. At GulfMark, we buy, sell, and trade crude oil. Our company drivers operate our own private fleet of tractors and trailers, which is some of the newest and safest in the industry.

Compensation

  • Average annual pay: $120,000+ per year
    • Drivers are paid a flat rate per load, based on number of miles of load & district assigned
    • Drivers are paid an hourly rate while on duty not driving
    • Increased pay for verifiable crude hauling experience
    • Additional pay for working nights
    • Holiday pay
  • Bonuses:
    • $3,000 Driver referral incentive pay
    • Quarterly driver safety award bonus

Home Time, Route, & Schedule

  • Home Time: Home daily!
  • Schedule: Thursday-Monday or Friday-Tuesday
  • Shift: 12 hour shift, start times between 3-5pm
    • Potential to move to day shift by seniority
  • Route: Within 150 miles of Jackson, MI
    • Drivers will be picking up at well sites (which can be off-road locations) and delivering to injection sites
  • Level of Touch: Test, load, and unload crude oil
    • Drivers will be responsible for taking samples and testing the oil to determine if it meets standards, we will train you!
    • Drivers will be hooking up hoses and using valves & levers to operate pump

  • 2023 & 2024 Western Star tractors
  • 8 Axle baffled tanker trailers

  • Inward/outward facing cameras
  • ELD equipped using Peoplenet system

Job Requirements

  • Determine both the quality and quantity of crude oil through gauging, sampling, gravity, temperature, and volume determination.
  • Fuel and lubricate truck and trailer
  • Be familiar and able to comply with all applicable federal, state, local and company rules and regulations that are in accordance with safe operations of cargo tank motor vehicle
  • Meet equipment safety requirements, including weight limits

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 22 years of age
  • Must have CDL A license
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year recent verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
    • Tanker experience preferred
  • Hazmat & tanker endorsements required
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs
  • No DUI/DWIs in last 7 years
  • No more than two moving violations in last 3 years
  • No preventable/chargeable accidents in last 3 years
  • Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations
  • Must be able to pass a required pre-employment drug screen
  • Hiring Area: For safety purposes, drivers must live 45 minutes or less from Jackson, MI
