Job description

BOBTAIL DRIVER

We are currently seeking a Bobtail Driver to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality customer service. We offer competitive pay rates, company paid health insurance, paid time off, 401K and clothing allowance benefits.

The Bobtail Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of flammable materials in bulk liquid form to commercial and residential tanks. The driver is responsible for maintaining the vehicle in optimal condition, performing routine inspections, and managing necessary documentation related to cargo and delivery. Effective communication with dispatchers, clients, and other stakeholders is essential to coordinate schedules and address any issues that arise during transit. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the supply chain by ensuring that products reach their destinations efficiently and securely.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Haz Mat and (including Tanker and Air Brake.
  • Must have Texas or Oklahoma LP Gas Employee Certificates and Licenses, or qualify in the 30 days of employment
  • Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical examination and alcohol/drug screening.
  • Must pass Road Skills Test

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and GPS navigation systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Customer service experience in a logistics or transportation environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate diesel and propane powered bobtail to transport and deliver flammable material in bulk form safely and efficiently across assigned routes.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Load and unload material as required, ensuring proper securing of freight to prevent damage during transit.
  • Maintain accurate records of driving hours, vehicle inspections, cargo details, and delivery confirmations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to provide updates on delivery status and resolve any logistical issues.
  • Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies regarding safety and operational procedures.
  • Manage unexpected situations such as traffic delays, weather conditions, or mechanical issues with professionalism and problem-solving skills.
