Shop Helper - Manufacturing & Fabrication
Watson Custom Tanks
Location: On-site
Schedule: Monday-Thursday | 8:15pm-6:45am
Pay: $18-$19 per hour + $0.50/hr Shift Differential
Job Summary
Watson Custom Tanks is actively hiring a Shop Helper to support our growing metal fabrication and manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on production role ideal for dependable individuals looking to build a long-term career in a fast-paced industrial environment. Flexibility, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are key to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build wooden crates, skids, and pallets for shipment
  • Load and unload equipment, raw materials, and freight
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided if needed)
  • Assist with grinding, washing tanks, and removing protective film
  • Support shipping and receiving activities
  • Gather parts and materials to maintain production flow
  • Assist shop floor teams with general labor tasks
  • Perform shop cleanup, including dumping scrap using forklifts
  • Maintain safe, organized, and efficient work areas
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support operations

Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Experience & Technical Skills
  • 2+ years of manufacturing or shop experience preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Ability to read tape measures accurately
  • Experience using hand and power tools

Soft Skills
  • Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills
  • Professional, respectful interaction with coworkers and customers
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds
