Job description

A. Description of Work
As a contractor for the Michigan Department of Information Technology (MDIT) the person in this position will be responsible for the day to day operations, support, and administration of the Single Sign On (SSO)/Identity Management (IDM) system. This includes the capabilities to perform hardware and software troubleshooting.
B. Background on work requested
This position provides additional resources to support Single Sign On/Identity Management system.
C. Objectives
Provide day-to-day support. Respond to call tickets. Perform troubleshooting. Provide assistance to projects needing SSO/IDM expertise.
D. Agency Technical Environment for the work
SOM SSO/IDM environment includes clustered Web Sphere servers, load balanced reverse proxy servers, load balanced LDAP servers, DB2 database servers running on SUN Solaris 10 servers.
E. Description of the requested work, including deliverables and knowledge transfer
• Identity and Access Management administration including the following tasks
• Assist in Discovery Analysis and Detailed Requirements Gathering of IDM
• Assist in Implementation and pilot of a new IDM Environment
• Assist in designing and implementing identity feed from HR systems.
• Install, upgrade, configure, and maintain hardware and operating system software, system utilities, and cluster software for IDM.
• Install, upgrade, configure and maintain LDAP, application servers and database servers needed for IDM.
• Install; configure high availability options for IDM. This includes load balancing, LDAP replications, high availability of policy and database servers
• Install all Operating System software patches and upgrades for IDM servers.
• Gather and document all server related information using provided tools for IDM servers.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, configuration, network, and user problems for IDM servers.
• Follow full change management processes for any changes related to servers.
• Work with hardware, software, and other server team support technicians to resolve problems and issues that may arise.
• Manage and document monitoring and troubleshooting functions/procedures used by System Administration staff.
• Work with Agency Services teams to integrate new applications into Single Sign On.
• Attend meetings with Agency Services to educate them about Single Sign on Solutions
• Assist in Integration and Implementation Services for future projects/systems adopting IDM Environment.
• Provide technical architecture overview of IDM to Agency Services.
• Install, configure and maintain IDM auditing and reporting features.
• Manage and maintain the log data with periodic backups and purges
• Develop and provide audit reports to various groups
• Monitor unusual user activity in IDM system
• Provide system level security by controlling System Administrator passwords for IDM servers
• Configure full server hardware and networking redundancy as needed, incase of failure.
• Configure and maintain system logs for trouble-shooting, reporting, audit, reporting, and capacity planning.
• Regular monitoring of all system logs to detect security problems and issues. This includes hardware errors, system logs, memory usage, system processes, system downtime, processor usage, files systems, events and configuration information associated with critical operating systems parameters.
Work with IDM Vendor when customizing IDM application based on user requirements.

Understands the strategic direction of enterprise and the supporting IT systems and architectures. Maintains knowledge of emerging technological trends and utilizes this knowledge to educate both IT and the business of opportunities to build better IT solutions that support and drive business decisions. Assists in the definition of the architecture and technology needs of the organization based on new and emerging technologies, and establishes priorities and strategies consistent with business goals and economic viability. Establishes foundation architecture for organization to standardize on hardware and software usage. Serves as a consultant and advisor to senior IT leadership on advanced technologies and evaluates the business impact through cost/benefit analysis. Recommends and incorporates technology with long-term business plans. Transfers knowledge of key learnings throughout the enterprise, and establishes and communicates strategic and technological plans. This position prefers a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience and requires 7 to 10 years of IT work experience. Requires prior management, supervisory, or team leader experience.
Preferred:
Must have advanced Unix knowledge, 5-10 years in Tivoli Access manager/Tivoli Identity manager experience. Certifications in Tivoli security products preferred.
