In roles that require a TAM Card—such as bartenders, servers, or other hospitality positions in establishments that serve alcohol—daily responsibilities include checking customer IDs, responsibly serving alcohol, and maintaining compliance with local liquor laws. The TAM Card is essential because it demonstrates that you have completed state-mandated training on responsible alcohol service, which helps reduce legal risks for both you and your employer. The Tam Card is essential for safety clearance in construction sites, whereas HVAC Technicians need industry-specific certifications for their technical work.

What does 'TAM Card Required' mean for a job?

When a job posting says 'TAM Card Required,' it means applicants must have a valid TAM (Techniques of Alcohol Management) Card before starting work. The TAM Card certifies that the holder has completed training on responsible alcohol service, which is mandated by law in many parts of Nevada for those who sell or serve alcohol. Employers require this certification to ensure compliance with state and local regulations and to promote safe alcohol service. Obtaining a TAM Card involves completing an approved course and passing an exam, after which the card is issued. Having a TAM Card can make you eligible for more hospitality jobs, particularly in restaurants, bars, and casinos.
