Job description

Skeleton's Commercial department is looking for a driven and experienced
Application Engineer- Data Centers (m/f/x)
to support our customers and partners across the United States. In this role, you will be the key technical liaison between our sales, product, and engineering teams and major data center customers. Your deep understanding of power infrastructure, energy storage technologies, and thermal management will help position Skeleton's Supercapacitor and SuperBattery solutions as performance-driven alternatives to conventional systems.
Your responsibility areas:
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to data center customers and partners.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to identify customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop and optimize system architectures for integrating Skeleton's ultracapacitors into data center UPS, backup power, and energy efficiency applications.
  • Conduct on-site visits, technical trainings, and product demonstrations.
  • Support system design, including electrical schematics, thermal considerations, and lifecycle cost analysis.
  • Work closely with R&D and Product Development to communicate field feedback and improve product-market fit.
  • Prepare technical documentation including specifications, integration guides, and white papers tailored for the U.S. data center market.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant U.S. industry standards and certifications (UL, IEEE, etc.).

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience as an application or field engineer in the data center or power infrastructure industry.
  • Strong knowledge of power backup systems, UPS, batteries, and/or ultracapacitors.
  • Familiarity with thermal management, grid-tied systems, and data center operational requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel domestically (up to 25-40%) for customer meetings and site support.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Extra cookie points for additional qualifications:
  • Experience working with Tier 1 or hyperscale data center operators.
  • Knowledge of energy storage regulations and incentive programs in the U.S.
  • Hands-on experience with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS) or electrical CAD tools.
  • Experience with industrial or grid-connected systems, especially in backup power applications.
