Job description

Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Marine Construction Estimator role in Bradenton, FL. Our client is a well-established industry leader specializing in complex marine and heavy civil construction projects. Known for delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions, they are committed to innovation, safety, and excellence across every phase of project execution. Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for marine and heavy civil construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead.
· Review and interpret project plans, specifications, bid documents, contracts, and technical drawings to develop detailed project scopes and budgets.
· Analyze project risks, site conditions, and constructability to identify opportunities and potential cost impacts.
· Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor pricing to ensure competitive and comprehensive bid packages.
· Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and operations teams during bid preparation and project handoff.
· Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client meetings as needed to gather project information and support business development efforts.
· Develop quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns using estimating software and internal pricing databases.
· Track bid schedules, maintain proposal documentation, and ensure timely submission of all estimates and supporting materials.
· Support continuous improvement of estimating processes, cost databases, and bid strategies.
· Assist leadership in identifying project opportunities and strategic growth initiatives within the marine and civil construction markets.

Qualifications:
· REQUIRED: Must have prior Marine Construction or Civil Construction experience.
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
· 3+ years of estimating experience in marine construction, heavy civil, waterfront, dredging, pile driving, bridge, or related infrastructure projects preferred.
· Strong understanding of construction means and methods, project sequencing, and cost control principles.
· Experience reviewing blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
· Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and project management platforms.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to accuracy.
