Job description

Ourisman, Trusted Tradition

Here's to those who think differently. The ones who think that a car dealership's first priority should be the guest. Such a candid idea could only come from Ourisman. Because we're forward thinking, just like the communities we serve. Individuals who won't be constrained by how things "have always been done", but instead strive to do things "how they could be done" and "how they should be done." It is a philosophy we have infused into every fabric of our dealerships, from the bottom up, in every department, and in every Ourisman team member. Changing the way we all think about car buying is just the beginning.

Role Summary

Ourisman Automotive Group is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Tag and Title Clerk to manage the processing of vehicle titles and registration documents. The Tag and Title Clerk will ensure that all paperwork is accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner, supporting the smooth operation of the dealership's sales and service departments.

More about the role

  • Prepare and process vehicle title documents, including applications for title transfers, lien releases, and registrations.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately, including sales contracts, financing paperwork, and compliance forms.
  • Stay informed about state and local regulations regarding vehicle registration and title requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Assist customers with inquiries related to title and registration issues, providing clear and accurate information and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Work closely with the sales team, finance department, and state agencies to facilitate the timely processing of vehicle titles and registrations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all title and registration transactions, ensuring documentation is readily accessible for audits and reviews.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors in title and registration paperwork, coordinating with relevant parties to correct issues.

What we look for

  • Previous experience as a Tag and Title Clerk or in a similar administrative role is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Familiarity with vehicle title and registration processes, as well as relevant state and local regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, team members, and regulatory agencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with dealership management software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues related to documentation and compliance.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance options
  • Short-term and Long-term disability insurance
  • 401(k) plan with company match
  • Paid time off and holiday leave
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth

Ourisman Automotive Group is an equal opportunity employer. We believe in hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive, people-first culture. We are committed to non-discrimination on any protected basis, such as disability and veteran status, or any other basis covered under applicable law. Should you require accommodation during the interview process, please advise the hiring manager when contacted for an interview.
