Position Summary: The Yoga instructor is a discipline-specific instructor responsible for delivering a single approved class format.

FLSA: Non-exempt

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach one defined discipline or class type such as Yoga, Adult Fundamentals BJJ, or Intro Mobility.
  • Deliver pre-approved curriculum as written.
  • Maintain safe training environment and classroom control.
  • Support facility cleanliness and equipment accountability.
  • Attend required staff meetings or training sessions as scheduled.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, ensuring their safety.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education/Experience & Skills:

  • Yoga instructors will have completed their yoga teacher training and registered as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).
  • Demonstrated competency in assigned discipline.
  • Prior coaching or teaching experience required.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required if teaching minors.
  • Background screening required for instructors working with youth.

Working Conditions:

  • Regular evening or weekend work required to support trainings and events.
  • The duties of this job normally require physical activity associated with training and demonstration.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during instruction.
  • Ability to demonstrate self-defense techniques, including controlled physical movements, and engage in moderate to high physical activity during classes.
  • Life and transport equipment, typically up to 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to focus on fine print.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
