Cure Tablet is on the lookout for a dedicated and qualified Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our integrated care team in Houston, Texas. This role offers the unique opportunity to work remotely while providing essential mental health services to individuals facing the dual challenges of mental health and substance use disorders. Work Environment

This position allows for remote work flexibility while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team. You will have access to advanced case management tools and telehealth technologies to facilitate virtual therapy sessions. While maintaining a commitment to a work-life balance, your typical work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional evening shifts based on client needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the mental health and substance use issues of clients, ensuring accurate identification of co-occurring disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, utilizing evidence-based practices such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions aimed at fostering coping strategies, relapse prevention, and emotional regulation techniques.
  • Engage effectively in regular care coordination with psychiatrists, nurses, and other specialists to ensure a seamless treatment experience for clients.
  • Monitor clients for substance use and recovery progress through follow-up assessments and motivational interviewing, reinforcing their commitment to recovery.
  • Educate clients and their families on the interplay between mental health and substance use disorders, enhancing understanding and treatment adherence.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of treatment interventions, progress notes, and referrals in compliance with ethical and legal guidelines.
  • Participate in regular case conferences, staff training, and continued education to remain current with best practices in treating co-occurring disorders.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with adult clients navigating the complexities of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. This diverse clientele often presents with a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance dependence, and more. Your expertise will play a vital role in supporting their recovery and empowering them towards sustainable wellness.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Must possess current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
  • A solid foundation in evidence-based therapies tailored for co-occurring disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment.
