Position Overview

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Machine Operator will perform operation, cleaning, set-up and problem solving on high-speed computer controlled tablet presses, encapsulation equipment and/or soft-gel processing equipment.ย  The operator will take full ownership of the operating process to produce solid doses (tablets/capsules/soft-gels). The operator will work with a wide range of product granulations and/or gelatin materials and will be required to troubleshoot product and machine related issues. The Machine Operator is responsible for performing their job duties in a manner that meets the company standards for safety, security, and quality.ย 

Shift

2:00 am - 2:30 pm, Wednesday - Friday, or as job responsibilities require.

Pay

Starting pay: $25.65ย 

Functions
  • Operate tablet presses, encapsulating machines or soft-gel processing equipment to produce quality tablets/capsules/soft-gels that meet the specifications as outlined in the Master Manufacturing Record (MMR) following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPโ€™s)
  • Verify Product Name, Number and Lot code against label
  • Monitor quality of tablets, capsules, and soft-gel products by performing in-process checks, such as weight, thickness, temperature check, etc., and record results on appropriate documents
  • Complete proper finishing and labeling procedures for inventory processing
  • Complete necessary product transports within department
  • Adjust equipment settings in order to ensure compliance to product specifications
  • Change machine parts and tooling (dies, tamping pins, etc.) to ensure quality of product
  • Perform machine changeovers within the established standards
  • Mix/Mill granulations as required
  • Monitor machine operations and implement corrective action as needed
  • Data entry
  • Troubleshoot machine and product related issues; communicate these issues to supervisor/lead

    Experience:

    • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
    • Experience working in a food processing environment โ€“ preferred
    • Experience as a machine operator (machine operation, troubleshooting, multitasking)
    • Experience working with powders and high-speed manufacturing equipment โ€“ preferred

    Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

    • Strong math skills (addition, subtraction, fractions and measurements)
    • Good documentation and organizational skills
    • Mechanical aptitude
    • Computer knowledge โ€“ Microsoft Office
    • Ability to use measuring instruments and simple hand tools
    • Ability to interpret and follow
    • Ability to troubleshoot
    • Ability to communicate professionally
    • Capable of lifting and moving heavy equipment parts and containers.
