We are currently seeking a PowerBI/Tableau Developer - HYBRID to join our team in Arlington, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Developer / Visualization Specialist to support a Federal Government client by designing, developing, and enhancing enterprise reporting and dashboard solutions. This role focuses heavily on data visualization, stakeholder engagement, and improving executive and operational reporting capabilities through modern business intelligence solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Microsoft Power BI, experience supporting Tableau environments from an operations and maintenance (O&M) perspective, and the ability to translate complex data into intuitive and actionable visual insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This position requires a professional with strong communication skills, experience operating within Federal environments, and the ability to work collaboratively across business and technical teams.


Job Duties:

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, scorecards, and analytical reports using Microsoft Power BI.
  • Create visually compelling and user-friendly reports that support executive decision-making and operational analysis.
  • Develop advanced visualizations, KPI tracking mechanisms, and drill-through reporting capabilities.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into actionable reporting and visualization solutions.
  • Optimize report performance, usability, accessibility, and responsiveness.
  • Develop reusable reporting templates, standards, and visualization best practices.
  • Implement row-level security (RLS), data governance standards, and report access controls.

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Analysis

  • Partner with business stakeholders, program managers, and technical teams to understand reporting needs and operational objectives.
  • Conduct workshops and requirements gathering sessions focused on improving data storytelling and reporting maturity.
  • Advise stakeholders on visualization techniques, dashboard usability, and data interpretation best practices.
  • Present reporting solutions and analytics findings to leadership and operational teams.
  • Assist organizations in improving reporting adoption and self-service analytics capabilities.

Tableau Operations & Maintenance Support

  • Provide operational support and maintenance for existing Tableau dashboards and reporting environments.
  • Troubleshoot Tableau report failures, refresh issues, data source connectivity, and user access problems.
  • Support migration or modernization efforts from Tableau to Power BI where applicable.
  • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades coordination, and monitoring activities for Tableau reporting assets.
  • Assist with Tableau Server or Tableau Online administration tasks as needed.

Data Integration & Technical Support

  • Work with SQL-based data sources, APIs, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems to support reporting initiatives.
  • Develop and optimize DAX calculations, Power Query transformations, and data models.
  • Support ETL/ELT processes and data validation activities.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across reporting platforms.
  • Coordinate with database administrators, data engineers, and infrastructure teams.

Federal Compliance & Documentation

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, reporting standards, SOPs, and user guides.
  • Support Federal cybersecurity, records management, accessibility (Section 508), and data governance requirements.
  • Participate in change management, release management, and configuration management processes.
  • Support audit requests and reporting compliance activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in business intelligence, reporting, data analytics, or data visualization development.
  • Minimum 4 years of Power BI development experience supporting enterprise-scale reporting solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related field.
    • One-and-one- half (1.5) years of additional experience can substitute for one (1) year of a typical degree program.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification
  • Tableau Desktop Specialist or Tableau Certified Professional certification
  • Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals or related certifications
  • Experience supporting Tableau reports and dashboards in an operations and maintenance capacity.
  • Experience with:
    • Tableau Server administration
    • Azure Data Services
    • Microsoft Fabric
    • SharePoint Online
    • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
    • Snowflake or cloud-based analytics platforms
  • Knowledge of Federal reporting and compliance standards.
  • Experience implementing Section 508 compliant dashboards and reports.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD processes for BI solutions.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards, operational reporting solutions, and KPI-driven analytics.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Experience gathering requirements and working directly with business users in complex organizations.
  • Experience working in Federal Government, DoD, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and ticketing systems such as Jira or ServiceNow.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience supporting data governance or master data management initiatives.

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this role is $106,480 - $159,720. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. If the position offered in temporary, the position will not be eligible for incentive compensation. This position is eligible for company benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance with an employer contribution, flexible spending or health savings account, life and AD&D insurance, short and long term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program with company match, and additional voluntary or legally-required benefits.
