Position Overview
The Department of Data Science and Business Management seek an enthusiastic adjunct faculty member to teach an undergraduate course that introduces the conceptual and technical foundations of Business Analytics and BigData. The instructor will guide students through realworld analytics practices, data handling, and the use of industrystandard tools, preparing them for datadriven roles across the business sector.
Course Description
The course provides the conceptual and technical foundations of various aspects of Data Analytics. The purpose is to prepare students with foundation skills in Big Data, a skill widely needed and valued across the business world. Students will explore the analytical process, how data is created, stored, accessed, and how organizations work with data to create environments where analytics can flourish.
Learning Objectives / Outcomes
1. Understand the strategy and technologies of business analytics.
2. Develop foundational skills in BigData.
3. Describe descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
4. Create and interpret data visualizations.
5. Perform data modeling and review datamining, simulation, and optimization methods.
