JOB SUMMARY
Works under general supervision to administer, develop, and optimize Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud environments supporting enterprise analytics for the UT Southwestern Health System. Serves as the health system's subject matter expert for Tableau architecture, dashboard development, and data visualization, with full lifecycle ownership of the Health System Balanced Scorecard, including requirements analysis, data modeling, workbook development, publishing, performance tuning, governance, and ongoing operational support. Establishes and enforces standards for Tableau data sources, extracts, refresh schedules, workbook performance, visualization best practices, and role-based access controls. Troubleshoots and resolves complex Tableau Server/Cloud issues related to authentication, permissions, data connectivity, extract refresh failures, rendering performance, and embedded analytics. Drives continuous improvement of health system dashboards by optimizing queries, calculations, extracts, and visual design to support performance management and executive reporting. Ensures all published Tableau content complies with ADA accessibility standards and institutional governance requirements. Leads the integration and embedding of Tableau dashboards and views into web applications and enterprise platforms using Tableau's embedding APIs and authentication frameworks. Provides expert consultation, technical guidance, and best practices to stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, high-performance analytics that enable data-driven decision making across the health system.
