Job description

Job Summary

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer I is responsible for the creation of BI reports, dashboards and other forms of information designed to gain new insights, monitor key organizational and operational measures, and provide visibility throughout the organization and to our customers of our performance. This position is responsible for building new data sets and data structures as required to support business needs, and for managing the distribution, replication, and archival of data.
  • Manages full lifecycle Business Intelligence (BI) development
  • Manages individual work load and works effectively on multiple assignments, activities, or projects in a fast pace changing environment.
  • Develops and maintains general understanding of industy trends with a focus on Business Intelligence.
  • Communicates with internal clients in order to understand business processes, gather requirements, and coordinate ongoing iterative development that provides BI solutions that drive effective business and clinical decisions.
  • Analyzes, designs, develops, and documents BI solutions based on Information Services standards and best practices.
  • Utilizes knowledge of organizational system usage and an understanding of system build, workflows, and patterns of use to design, write, validate, and modify reports that meet the needs of the report end users consumers in their respective area/s.
  • Coordinates with other developers on the team to build and share knowledge, ensuring consistent delivery of information.
  • Provides leadership through demonstrated excellence in customer service, product quality, team traininig, and knowledge transfers.
  • Conducts code reviews routinely.
  • Collaborates with application analysts, and report end users to analyze, provides specifications for, and writes individual reports for the Epic Implementation project.
  • Analyzes, diagnoses, and resolves reporting and data issues

Education: Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Administration, Business Administration or related field or equivalent education, training and/or experience.

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience in implementing/developing/supporting Business Intelligence applications/Dashboards.
  • Structured Query Language (creating tables, views, stored procedures, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to execute projects independently.
  • Intermediate level proficiency with SQL databases.
  • EPIC Data Model Certification required within 12 months of hire

Preferred:

  • SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Power BI, Tableau, Epic
  • Data Warehouse Experience
  • Healthcare Experience
  • Basic level proficiency with query performance tuning
