Job description

Description:

About the Role

We’re looking for a high-agency intern to help us identify inefficiencies and build AI-powered solutions that improve how our business operates day-to-day.

This is not a shadowing role. You’ll work directly with leadership to:

  • Diagnose messy, real-world processes
  • Build practical automation solutions using AI tools
  • Turn operational data into clear, actionable insights
  • By the end of the internship, your work will be actively used by the business.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify high-friction manual workflows across operations, estimating, and admin functions
  • Design and implement AI-assisted solutions to streamline those processes
  • Build automations using tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Zapier, Make, or similar platforms
  • Analyze operational datasets (labor hours, job performance, estimating accuracy, etc.)
  • Build dashboards or reporting tools to support leadership decisions
  • Document systems and create reusable templates for long-term use
  • Present a final “before vs. after” impact summary to leadership
Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a degree in business, data, engineering, or a related field
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets)
  • Familiar with AI tools (LLMs, prompt design, or automation tools)
  • Strong problem-solver who enjoys turning chaos into structure
  • Able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-starter who can operate with minimal direction

Bonus Skills (Not Required)

  • Python or SQL
  • API integrations or webhook-based automation
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
  • Experience with automation tools like Zapier or Make

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience implementing AI in a real operating business
  • Direct exposure to company leadership and decision-making
  • Ownership of meaningful, portfolio-worthy projects
  • A clear understanding of how data and automation drive business performance
