Role: Saw Operator

Objectives: Fabrication of material for roofing applications. Produces cut material by operating a sliding panel saw; interprets shop drawings; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment. The Saw Operator reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares orders by cutting various types of insulation based on cut lists, and shop drawings using a sliding panel saw; ensures accuracy and quality of orders
  • Pulling materials, packing, wrapping and labelling pallets; placing materials in staging area
  • Verifies quality by measuring pieces; adheres to quality assurance procedures and processes
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following maintenance guidelines
  • Assist in effective completion of inventory audits
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping warehouse neat; complying with established policies and procedures
  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications

  • Valid Forklift License (training can be provided)
  • Able to work in shift/overtime as required
  • Working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment
  • Compliance with OH&S act / provincial workplace safety regulations
  • Ability to lift, push, and carry 80-100 lbs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions, including bending, twisting, and reaching
  • Ability to work in a high-paced production environment and meet production targets
