Job description

Position Summary:
Under general direction from the Pit Manager, oversees the table games dealers in all available table games. Ensures table games operate in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures and functions are executed in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversees table games dealers and improves staff effectiveness by counseling, training and recommending disciplinary action for employees; planning, delegating, monitoring, and appraising job tasks and results in a timely manner.
  • Observes and analyzes the integrity of all table games activity; mediates and solves problems for guests and employees.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures when opening or closing games.
  • Implements and participates in staff development and training programs.
  • Reviews employees to increase skill level and assists in training and development of newly hired staff.
  • Safeguard casino assets and ensures employees adhere to all gaming policies and procedures; informs Pit Manager or Table Games Shift Manager of any deviation from standard dealing procedures.
  • Renders impartial decisions using all available means, i.e. dealer/player, information and surveillance.
  • Notifies the Pit Manager or Table Games Shift Manager immediately when a guest is dissatisfied with a decision.
  • Relays pertinent information regarding daily business to incoming Supervisor at shift change.
  • Ensures that all table game employees are providing optimum service to all guests at all times.
  • Provides superior guest service and develops repeat players through personal interaction and relationship marketing.
  • Maintains player-tracking log.
  • Keeps leadership and other departments informed of status of table games activities by attending meetings and submitting reports.
  • Maintains an accurate and accountable inventory of all table games supplies; performs a monthly inventory of supplies.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by conducting research, attending seminars, educational workshops, classes and conferences; reviewing professional publications and establishing networks.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  • Protect all gaming activities within an assigned area of responsibility.
  • Observe and follow policy and procedures in order to preserve the integrity of the game.
  • Communicate all pertinent information pertaining to game or player activity and/or game protection/integrity to Pit and/or Shift Managers.
  • Maintain awareness of promotions and special events and communicate this information to Team Members and guests.
  • Act in any capacity assigned by Table Games Management.
  • Provide exceptional guest service by interfacing with players and dealers.
  • Responsible for communication within their department ensuring that information is shared with Team Members.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Direct Reports: Dealers.
Access to Sensitive Areas: Table Games and Poker pit area.
Signatory Authority: Chip fill/credit receipts and match play.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required unless waived by Human Resources Management. Two (2) years of related gaming experience including six (6) months in a lead or supervisory capacity. Demonstrated knowledge of casino card games or training/school certification required. Excellent interpersonal communication, guest service, attention to detail and problem solving skills required. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of table games operations to include all available table games.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting, math, and record keeping practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
  • Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Skill in supervising, training, and evaluating assigned staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.
  • Ability to make solid decisions and exercise independent judgment.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for prolonged periods, walk and sit; use hands for dexterity of motion; stoop, bend, kneel or crouch, and have normal auditory, visual acuity, and verbal communications skills. Employee spends a significant amount of time twisting and turning with upper extremities extended across gaming table. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in both indoors and outdoors where employee may have frequent contact with the public and be exposed to second hand smoke, moderate/high noise levels, dirt, dust and unpleasant odors. Work may be performed in areas which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky and dimly lit, and maneuver outside in temperatures in excess of 115ยฐ and as cold as 15ยฐ (exposed to all weather conditions). Prolonged sitting, walking, or extended work hours including swing shifts, evenings, holidays and weekends may be required.
Must be able to work Nights, Weekends, and Holidays
