Job description

ESP Associates, Inc. is actively looking to bring an experienced CEI Inspector on to our team for bridge and highway projects in Manteo, NC and the Outer Banks. CEI Technician levels include T1, T2, and T3. Previous experience in the inspection of transportation projects and certifications from DOT are preferred.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspector duties on NCDOT and County transportation construction projects including inspection services for asphalt, concrete, erosion control, traffic control, earthwork, and other construction materials and processes as influenced by the project
  • Coordinate schedules, distribute tasks, and provide support to all levels of inspectors
  • Complete daily diaries to include earthwork quantities, pile driving logs, progress updates, and any other necessary documentation as per management or client
  • Ensure project organization and coordination with other field personnel
  • Assist with the preparation of the project’s monthly estimate
  • Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed per NCDOT Standard Specifications and as well as jobsite drawings
  • Obtain, prepare, record and review all materials used for the project to ensure correspondence with specifications
  • Measure and verify installations and dimensions of all construction activities

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 0-10 years of experience in bridge and roadway construction inspection
  • Currently possess or have the ability to obtain the following certifications:
    1. NCDOT Concrete Field Technician and ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician
    2. NCDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician
    3. NCDOT Earthwork and Base Course Technician
    4. Nuclear Gauge Technician Certification
    5. NCDOT QMS Roadway Technician
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Must be able to have the ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends as needed
  • Candidates will be required to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
