About the Position

Ready to combine your technical skills with a civic purpose? Join the Maricopa County Recorder's Office as a Temporary T-Tech Auditor!

As a Temporary T-Tech Auditor, you are responsible for providing technical collaboration with our Poll Workers and County Elections T-Techs. You will review and provide troubleshooting efforts, equipment security, and retrieval activities. You will resolve technical conflicts at our polling sites, supporting our election activities before, during, and after the election cycle.

About Us

The Maricopa County Recorder's Office (MCRO) is responsible for maintaining the Maricopa County voter registration records and for administering over elections in partnership with the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. The MCRO also maintains a permanent public record of over 50 million documents dating back to 1871, including deeds, plat maps, and other important records. Our office serves over 2.5 million registered voters and 4.4 million residents across Maricopa County. The MCRO offers a friendly, welcoming, and collaborative environment with opportunities to grow and develop new skills.

We Require

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 months of computer troubleshooting experience

Other Requirements

  • Must be a registered voter, or have the ability to become a registered voter, in the State of Arizona by the time of hire
  • May require the use of a personal vehicle, which would require a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and attendance in Maricopa County's Defensive Driving Course
  • Must pass an applicable background screening
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary
  • This position requires a basic understanding of computer systems, including hardware, software, and common operating systems (e.g., Windows) as well as a familiarity with fundamental networking concepts such as IP addresses, Wi-Fi connectivity, and troubleshooting network issues.

Job Contributions

  • Supports troubleshooting efforts throughout the election cycle and equipment security and retrieval activities at the close of Election Day
  • Travels throughout Maricopa County verify that voting location set-up procedures for check-in equipment, printers, and other ancillary items are completed in accordance with County standards
  • Works in collaboration with the Election Department t-techs to monitor voting location operations and troubleshooting activities when early voting locations are operational
  • Prepares and retrieves information and enters/updates information in reports, logs, or other documentation/record-keeping systems
  • Carries a 50lb backpack of materials for repairs throughout the assignment
  • Analyzes programs to ensure prompt problem resolution and ticket closure
  • Assists other divisions of Elections with their daily functions and activities

Working Conditions

  • Full-time/Temporary/Overtime/Holiday hours are mandatory during the election cycle
  • This position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, to lift floor-to-shoulder and shoulder-to-waist up to 50 pounds, and to carry for 100 feet
  • Requires the ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds for 200 feet and to stoop and bend
  • Requires upper extremity repetitive motions
  • Work may be performed outdoors in high temperatures or indoors
  • May require the use of a personal vehicle to travel within Maricopa County
  • Requires the ability to use a polling location sitebook, a pallet jack, and Microsoft Office products
