About the Facility - Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System
The CAVHS, a flagship Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare provider, is one of the largest and busiest VA medical centers in the country. Its two hospitals, located in Little Rock and North Little Rock, anchor a broad spectrum of inpatient and outpatient healthcare services, ranging from disease prevention through primary care, to complex surgical procedures, to extended rehabilitative care.
This System serves as a teaching facility for more than 1,500 students and residents enrolled in more than 65 educational programs; its principal affiliate is the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

RN CLC - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
  • The Community Living Center RN will serve as a staff nurse and will evaluate clinical practice and initiate change based on current concepts and findings from research and/or evidence-based studies.
  • Performing diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures appropriate to the CLC's practice setting.
  • The Community Living Center RN provides leadership in interpreting, supporting, and implementing Medical Center and Nursing Department philosophy, policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and quality improvement processes; accepting responsibility and maintaining accountability for actions and continued professional and personal growth.
  • Serving as a consultant in clinical practice.
  • Initiating and leading groups of personnel and interdisciplinary groups.
  • Establishing relationships with professional and/or health related groups within the community.
  • Must have good organizational skills which enable completion of work.
  • An ability to assume leadership duties.
  • Ability to establish effective communication with residents, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • The Community Living Center RN should have a working understanding of cultural transformation, creating a home-like environment, a dedication to improving the quality of life for the residents and provide physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual support and medical care for residents and/or significant others during the time surrounding death.
RN CLC - REQUIREMENTS
  • Completed courses for nursing from an accredited program approved by either the Commission for Education in Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
  • Shall have a current license in at least one state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
  • Current certification in BLS and ACLS by an American Health Association Vendor.
  • Must have a minimum of one year experience within the last three years.
