Searcy Breast Center RADIOLOGY ASSOCIATES, P.A.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Mammographer Department: prn
Reports To: Breast Center Supervisor Location: SBC
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY: Performs and conducts quality mammograms in a safe and timely manner, as ordered by the patient's referring physician and/or as directed by radiologist by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These functions are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and requirements of the job. Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.
This position is a safety sensitive position.
1. Conducts and administers appropriate mammography exams and intervention procedures requested by the referring physician utilizing proper techniques and position for the area being examined.
2. Obtains a medical history and explain procedure being performed to patient.
3. Prepares and assists patient for procedure ensuring the exam and any instructions are explained to the patient prior to the procedure.
4. Assists with interventional procedures where applicable
5. Maintains patient's record in EMR.
6. Assists with quality control and image assessment
7. Maintains cleans, sanitizes and schedules preventive maintenance to insure good working condition of equipment.
8. Notifies OC Tech and/or service engineers of equipment malfunctions and maintains a log of equipment procedures.
9. Maintains a well-stocked and clean area.
10. Maintains ARRT registry, State certification and CPR certification.
11. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Supplemental Functions:
A. Serves as backup relief for other radiologic areas as needed.
B. Assists front office staff with clerical support such as, filing, order supplies, etc.
C. Conducts quality control procedures.
D. Maintaining paperwork necessary for the mammo tracking system and
regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of approved school of radiologic technology; specific registry or training in mammography. At least one year of hospital or clinic experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical and medical reports and procedures. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients, staff or physicians. Ability to prepare documentation and records.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
A.R.R.T and Arkansas R.T. licensure required; Mammography registry preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Good communication and organizational skills; concise decision-making skills. Excellent communication skills required.
