POSITION PURPOSE:

Provides superior banquet service to resort guests which includes, function set up and tear down, clean up, and special needs by the guest. Maintains the budget including but not limited to, inventory control and labor cost.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures that the banquet staff has guidance, direction and training to provide exemplary resort guest service at all times.
  • Schedules, delegates and directs the workflow of the Banquet Department.
  • Responsible for all aspects of hiring, development and discipline of employees.
  • Conducts ongoing informal evaluations giving staff constructive feedback in the time frame required.
  • Maintains reports, accounting, and time and attendance records in a timely manner as needed by the Director of Food and Beverage.
  • Responsible for the inventory of the banquet department linen, china, silver, glasses, uniforms and audiovisual equipment and ensures that they are in proper working condition.
  • Assists the banquet staff in the set up and clean up of functions as needed.
  • Coordinates with the Group Sales Manager, department managers, culinary and kitchen staff, in order to provide smooth efficient banquet service.
  • Ensures that all banquet staff maintains current food handler's certificates, and OLCC certificates in compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Provides constructive input to foster process improvement within the department.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
  • 5 years of experience with an organization that handles extensive banquet and catering events required.
  • 2 years supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Able to read, write and comprehend written instructions.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks at once.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to obtain a Class III Gaming License.
  • Food Handlers or ServSafe Certificate and OLCC License required.
  • Current and valid Oregon Driver's License with the ability to qualify for the UIDC's Drivers Policy.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance at all times (specific standards available).
