Job description

Quality Assurance Manager – North Augusta, SC

Lead and oversee the plant’s quality systems and activities, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, customer requirements, and operational performance targets for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the “voice of the customer” by establishing quality acceptance standards for all processes.
  • Take decisive action to protect customer interests while supporting safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and lead internal audits.
  • Champion root‑cause analysis; document and monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and error‑proofing solutions.
  • Act as the primary contact for quality issues with customers and suppliers, managing data and audit requests.
  • Oversee all testing and inspection processes, including customer specification management, acceptance standards, methods training, calibration, GR&R, data management, and statistical process control.
  • Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) to control and disposition non‑conforming material.
  • Manage inventory selection during order validation to meet customer requirements and optimize inventory use.
  • Gate‑keep the new‑product validation process to ensure compliance with customer specifications and repeatable manufacturing capability.
  • Control documentation and procedural compliance through effective internal audit processes.
  • Develop and train the quality team; verify training effectiveness for hourly associates on quality acceptance guidelines.
  • Recruit, coach, evaluate, and conduct annual performance appraisals for quality staff.
  • Promote a safe and productive environment by maintaining high work‑performance standards and attitudes.
  • Engage in Lean Six Sigma culture, encouraging, teaching, and supporting Lean management practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or business administration.
  • 5‑10 years of quality system management in a manufacturing operation.
  • Liable LSS Green Belt Certification; Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred.
  • Certification for ISO9001/TS16949 auditing or equivalent regulatory compliance experience.
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods and use of statistical process control.
  • High business acumen with a solid foundation in finance.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and structured root‑cause analysis skills.
  • Experience in recruiting, training, and developing quality personnel.
Work Location

Position is based onsite at the North Augusta, SC manufacturing facility (Monday–Friday). The role also provides quality oversight for the Bethune, SC location and will require onsite presence at Bethune approximately one day per week.
