Job Description

The Engineering Lead will oversee the design and development of Fuel & Lube Truck products for a leading manufacturer of specialized work truck equipment. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, guiding projects from concept through production while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory expectations. The Engineering Lead will coordinate engineering activities, manage priorities and resources, and mentor engineering staff to deliver high-quality, reliable products that support the company’s growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering efforts for the Fuel & Lube Truck product line from initial concept through production release.
  • Coordinate and prioritize engineering projects to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Allocate resources across the engineering team to balance workload and meet project deadlines.
  • Review and approve engineering designs to ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support in the design and development of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Support the hiring, training, mentoring, and ongoing development of engineering personnel.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, operations, quality, and other cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launch and continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot complex engineering challenges and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in product design, processes, and documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, company policies, and best practices throughout the engineering process.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain engineering drawings and technical documentation to support manufacturing and service.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of product development and engineering strategies for the Fuel & Lube Truck product line.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.
  • Previous experience leading engineering projects or teams.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software, including tools such as AutoCAD.
  • Expereince in manufacturing and product development engineering.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment with manufacturing, operations, and quality teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
