Job description

ROLE OVERVIEW:

A growing organization is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead its engineering department across mechanical design projects.

This role is responsible for overseeing engineering accuracy, team performance, and continuous development of engineering processes and staff. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise along with proven leadership experience.

Note: Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee all engineering and design work produced by the team
  • Manage full-cycle design and layout of engineering projects
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs as well as conceptual and presentation-level plans
  • Apply expertise in HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of engineering documentation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external engineering consultants and vendors
  • Coordinate schedules between engineering staff and project managers
  • Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and pre- and post-construction meetings
  • Develop, implement, and maintain engineering standards and best practices
  • Mentor, train, and evaluate engineering staff
  • Manage multiple projects with varying scope and complexity
  • Utilize tools such as Navisworks, Revit, and AutoCAD
  • Perform additional duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 7 or more years of experience in mechanical, construction, or related engineering fields
  • 5 or more years of leadership or management experience
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Navisworks, Revit, and AutoCAD
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
