Job description

The Retail Technical Support Intern will provide internal retail store associates with high quality, courteous and accurate technical support in a timely, efficient and professional manner. The primary focus is on one-to-one interaction via telephone, e-mail or chat, exercising sound judgment and initiative in following established policies and procedures, with the ability to work independently on a wide range of support issues.

This internship will provide hands on experience and exposure to retail IT and business operations as well as collaboration with Fareway staff throughout the organization. The intern will be provided mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals and provided opportunities to work on re- work projects and gain valuable skills. Scheduling will require night and weekend availability. This position consists of work from the Retail Support office in Boone, Iowa.

Responsibilities:
Assist in providing technical support to retail end users related to basic computer, application, system, device, access and hardware issues.
Ensure store associate questions are answered completely, in a professional, caring and responsive manner through phone, e-mail and chat support.
Perform research as needed on technology related issues and follow- up with the end user in a timely manner, ensuring the open issue is resolved.
Document and track issues into the appropriate tracking system.
Assist in maintaining and updating documentation to support continued skill and knowledge improvement related to technical issues.
Provide feedback on support issues, resolutions or suggestions, communicate trends, issues and appropriate solutions to team members and management.
Assist with the setup and configuration of new hardware and software as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:
Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, superiors and business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong listening skills.
Basic computer skills with emphasis on retail technology.
Aptitude for providing superior customer care.
Must exhibit dependability, adaptability and flexibility.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
High level of comfort speaking on the telephone.

Additional Details:
Internship is a paid opportunity.
Internship typically may be up to 40 hours per work week.
Internship does not provide housing stipend/allowance.

This position is based out of our Corporate Campus in Boone, Iowa.
