Job description

The Innovation and Technology Department of the County of San Bernardino is seeking a motivated contract Servicenow System Administrator. The candidate will apply Servicenow's best practices and methodologies toward developing and supporting a system for over 20,000 employees. The County has currently deployed ITSM and Appengine and is anticipating additional modules in the future.
Contract Duration: 1 to 2 years (renewed annually).
Responsibilities
  • Develop and document best practices for the County's use of Servicenow.
  • Gather requirements from the County's business units and apply Servicenow methodology.
โ€ข Drive adoption of Servicenow by providing a stable and functional system.
  • Identify and report on potential improvements in system stability and security.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for security and usability of the system.
  • Guide the business using best practices for system compatibility and interoperability.
  • Perform peer reviews of system integrity and standardization.
  • Perform capacity planning, maintain system patching, upgrades and clones.
  • Develop Knowledgebase, write knowledge articles.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Subject Matter Expert in Servicenow administration, patching, cloning, security.
  • Strong technical skills, ability to scope, deploy, support and maintain enterprise applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Technical Writing
  • The ideal candidate would have experience working in a Government environment with an understanding of a Government's administrative processes.
  • The ideal candidate would have experience with Servienow's flow/workflow, ACLs, ITSM, ITBM, Appengine. Experience with other Servicenow modules a plus.
  • Must live in Continental US and be a US citizen.

Experience and Education:
  • Minimum of 5 years as System Administrator experience supporting an enterprise application with thousands of users.
  • Minimum of 2 years administering Servicenow with admin level role.
  • Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed, post high-school coursework from an accredited university or technical school in Computer Information Systems, Business/Public Administration, or a closely related field.
