Overview

Hexagon's Autonomous Solutions division is looking for a Hardware Verification Engineer to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Hardware Verification Manager, this role will plan, coordinate, and execute hardware and systems verification activities for innovative GNSS products, smart antennas, ruggedized enclosures, and anti-jamming technologies, ensuring compliance with regulatory, environmental, safety, and performance requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

As Hardware Verification Engineer you will be responsible for these activities

  • Provide meaningful interpretation of environmental, EMI/EMC, regulatory, and safety test standards in the establishment of product/system requirements.
  • Review and comment on hardware and system requirements and design documents.
  • Develop comprehensive test strategies that ensure product compliance to the system requirements.
  • Coordinate hardware verification activities through the creation of test plans, test procedures, test records and reports.
  • Conduct hardware and systems-level verification testing to provide compliance evidence for environmental, EMI/EMC, regulatory, and safety requirements, using specialized test and measurement tools.
  • Engage with accredited test laboratories and certification agencies to ensure compliance deliverables on time and on budget.
  • On-going collaboration with product development teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and facilities.
QualificationsMust Have
  • Engineering degree or Electronics Engineering Technology diploma from a recognized institution.
  • Proven experience supporting electronic hardware product development.
  • Proficiency with specialized electronic test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, and network analyzers.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation including test plans, procedures, and verification reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 5-10% of the time.
Nice To Have
  • Working knowledge of GNSS technology, positioning systems, or GNSS receivers.
  • Experience performing verification testing against international environmental, EMI/EMC, regulatory, or safety standards.
  • Experience developing electronics for autonomy, agriculture, automotive, marine, aerospace, or defense applications.
  • Experience writing automated test scripts using Python or similar programming languages.
  • Experience applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools or techniques to improve engineering workflows or test efficiency.
