Job description

TRIGO Global Quality Solutions has an immediate opening for an Automation and Vision System Engineer Intern in Greer, SC.

Overall Purpose

Support the design, integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automated inspection solutions, including sensors, machine vision systems, cameras, lighting, and custom fixtures used in automotive environments. This internship contributes to delivering high-quality inspection and engineering services by leveraging technology to improve accuracy, traceability, repeatability, and efficiency.

Automation and Vison System Engineer

Responsibilities

Client relationship & Business development

  • Assist in collaborating with engineering, operations, and customer teams to gather requirements for inspection solutions.
  • Support digital reporting efforts, including data collection, basic analysis, and integration into quality systems.

Operations

  • Assist in the implementation of automated solutions that enhance inspection speed and accuracy.
  • Support the analysis of inspection data to identify trends, recurring defects, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Train inspectors and technicians to learn system operations and best practices.

Organization & management

  • Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation such as system layouts, SOPs, and maintenance instructions.
  • Provide onsite or remote assistance in troubleshooting basic issues with sensors, hardware, and software.
  • Assist with system testing, calibration, and validation activities (e.g., Gage R&R, correlation checks).

Technical

  • Support the setup and configuration of machine vision system (Cognex) and industrial sensors.
  • Assist with integrating automation into existing inspection processes.
  • Assist in developing and refining camera programs used for defect detection and measurement tasks.
  • Assist in the selection and evaluation of lenses, lighting, and hardware for optimal inspection performance.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts to improve system accuracy and reduce errors.
