As a Service Planner, you'll be a key member of Finning's Service Operations team, responsible for managing complex repair and rebuild projects from intake to completion. You'll develop repair scopes, create accurate quotes, and collaborate with service teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

  • Manage intake, scope development, quoting, and communication throughout the repair lifecycle. Ensure customer satisfaction through consistent updates and post-repair follow-up.

  • Develop accurate estimates and quotes based on machine history, warranty status, service letters, and customer requirements.

  • Create detailed work breakdown structures, define tasks and resource needs, and manage timelines and deliverables.

  • Collaborate with service supervisors and technicians to ensure scope alignment, participate in pre/mid/post job meetings, and track progress.

  • Assess technical justification for warranty and goodwill claims, and align with account teams on commercial considerations.

  • Identify lessons learned and improvement opportunities, and apply project management best practices to drive efficiency and quality.

  • Work closely with Product Support, Equipment Sales, and Administrative teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Complete all required documentation for service requests, work order transitions, and customer support operations.

  • Track and communicate the financial health of ongoing service jobs, ensuring transparency and solution-oriented updates.

  • Collaborate across Finning's regional network to manage component movement, scope validation, and progress tracking.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in technical service, parts, warranty, or repair, preferably with Caterpillar equipment and engines.

  • Strong customer relationship management skills, with a service-oriented mindset and ability to manage complex customer interactions.

  • Mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of Finning and CAT product lines, repair processes, and warranty systems is an asset.

  • Project management experience, including planning, execution, and close-out phases; PMP certification or relevant Blue Seal certification is a strong asset.

  • Financial acumen, with the ability to manage estimating accuracy, bid variance, and job profitability.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and other relevant software platforms.
