Job description

Our organization is excited to announce an opportunity for exceptional Intensivists to become part of our Cardiothoracic ICU team located in Long Island!

The Institute for Critical Care Medicine within our organization is on the lookout for skilled Intensivists to join our Critical Care team at the Cardiovascular Surgery Program in Oceanside, NY. This emerging program is eager to welcome dynamic and insightful Intensivists who are passionate about joining a collaborative team focused on achieving quality outcomes, education, and research. A fellowship in Critical Care is essential, and prior experience as an attending physician with critically ill cardiac and cardiothoracic patients is highly valued. Candidates should be adept in standard intensive care procedures such as central line placements and S-G catheter insertions. Responsibilities will encompass managing patients both pre- and post-cardiothoracic surgery, as well as after intricate cardiac procedures. The intensivist will collaborate with a team of Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, residents, and fellows, covering day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Applicants should be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Critical Care Medicine. Physicians interested in balancing their practice between Critical Care and a primary specialty (such as Anesthesiology, Surgery, or Medicine) are encouraged to apply.

This role includes an academic appointment in the candidate's primary specialty, along with a cross-appointment in the Institute for Critical Care Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine.
