Job description

Job Responsibilities:

  • · Adhering to all safety precautions
  • Ability to read and understand architectural & engineering drawings
  • Ability to calculate and size structural steel from concept drawings
  • Ability to create concept, preliminary, detail and approval drawings using Auto Cad & Auto Desk Inventor
  • Ability to obtain component and structural steel pricing from vendors to prepare project materials cost quote
  • Ability to prepare submittal packages and O&M manuals
  • Ability to maintain and file documents and drawings accordingly
  • Ability to communicate professionally written and verbally with general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, purchasing, sales and others



Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Structural Engineering (preferred but not required)
  • High School Diploma alongside technical school structural drawing, drafting, estimating course, or any of the experience listed
  • 3 year's experience with industrial shop fabrication, calculating, design & estimating structural steel
  • 3 year's experience detailing/ drafting structural steel, fixed cranes & crane structures or material handling equipment using Auto Cad and Auto Desk Inventor, Microsoft Office and other software programs
  • Must be a self starter, positive team player able to problem solve and multitask while maintaining progress towards completing tasks
