Job Summary:
GIGATEC Engineering is seeking a Linux System Administrator to join their team. The role involves providing support for a large-scale Linux system, managing operations, monitoring, and ensuring system security and performance.
Responsibilities:
• providing support for a large-scale Linux system including installation of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software
• day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all the compute, network, memory, and storage system components
• maintain the system’s security posture
• implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
Qualifications:
Required:
• Top Secret clearance
• Favorable completion of a polygraph
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Experience using the Linux CLI
• Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
• Experience performing System Administration including installation, configuration, and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in a large-scale Linux cluster environment
• General technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage system components
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite systems management solution
• Familiarity using Splunk for ingesting, indexing, searching, monitoring, and analyzing big data
• Experience with the sustainment and support of large Linux clusters including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution
• Experience with distributed files systems such as Weka, CEPH, GPFS, and HDFS
• Experience configuring and sustaining VMware ESXi/Virtualization environments
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools such as SaltStack and Ansible
• Experience with corporate STE/STN security compliance policies and procedures
• Experience using system monitoring tools such as HPE One View and Nagios
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Certifications: Security +
• Fifteen (15) years' experience
• Bachelors in Technical Discipline or an additional 5 years' experience
Preferred:
• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
