Job description

Vast is looking for a Mission Integrator, reporting to the Vice President of Mission Management, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. 

The Mission Integrator is focused on coordination, documentation, and execution support under guidance from senior team members. 

This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Own defined mission workstreams, which are elements of a larger mission (specific customer contract, payload integration, vehicle interfaces, etc.)
  • Draft and manage ICDs with external customers
  • Maintain integrated project schedules tied to contractual milestones
  • Support hands-on integration activities including:
  • Mission planning and integrated schedule execution
  • Payload rack integration and ground support equipment development
  • Launch vehicle and transport vehicle integration coordination
  • Act as day to day technical interface for assigned customers
  • Identify and mitigate technical and programmatic risks
  • Support proposal writing and customer technical discussions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or other technical discipline
  • 2+ years of hands-on engineering experience followed by 2-5 years of experience in systems engineering, technical project management, or customer facing program roles in aerospace

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Exposure to human spaceflight systems
  • Familiarity with ICD development and negotiation
  • Experience coordinating across multiple internal engineering disciplines

Pay Range: 

  • Mission Integrator: $77,900 - $110,500
  • Mission Integrator II: $94,300 - $133,800
